Dumper info

Post #1 by La ferme sauvage » Sat Dec 16, 2017 6:35 pm

Hi, thanks for adding me to the forum, I have just acquired an old 1 ton dumper possibly a thwaites finline going on internet pictures.
It has been used up until recently when the steering box failed which I am in the process of repairing, my question is about brake shoes as previously being used on a flat site the brakes weren't used but our land is a bit more hilly so I want the brakes working properly, they do still work a bit but need a lot of pressure and are adjusted beyond the limits.
Are the shoes unique to dumpers or are they a part used on other vehicles.
I'll try and put some pics on for identification.

Hi Brian and welcome to CMN  I think that brake shoes would be available off the shelf from Thwaites, perhaps somebody else could advise on this.

It would also be good if someone could confirm the make and model.
