skip dumper?

Post #1 by womble3go » Sat Jul 01, 2017 5:31 pm

Hi,

Hoping someone may be able to help me with this. I was told by the seller that it is a skip dumper. It is based on a dumper chassis, has a PH2 engine with electric start hydraulics and is 2 wheel drive. It does have a drop box for a 4 wheel option. I don't know if it ever did? The seller informed me that at some point it had been owned by Severn Water. The original skip has the markings for this but at some point it had a bigger skip fitted. I was told that the original skip could have been put on the floor and the dumper chassis taken away to do other work, but the new one was permanently fixed.

A piece of information that would be really useful is what is the dumper frame this has been added to, so I can try to find a manual for it.

Thank you for your help,
Kevin

Hi, could this be a Barford Bison or a Benford TT40 chassis? which this is based on?

I think the base machine has the look of a Thwaites, but I could easily be wrong! I don't ever recall seeing a loading arrangement like that before, you could try contacting Kellands as they are still in business.

My money is on a Barford Bison, apparently a rigid 4wd was available.

Rocking horse .......

I suppose most of this era of dumpers are running known axles and gear box plus Petter engine. I wonder if you might source info on the components?
