I noticed today that JCB have quietly added a range of site dumpers from 1 to 10 tonnes capacity to their product range:
http://www.jcb.co.uk/Products/Machines/Site-Dumpers.aspx
At first glance they appear to be Terex TA series dumpers?
The models are: 1THT/2TFT/2TST/2THS/3TFT/3TST/3.5TST/6TFT/6TST/9TFT/10TFT
Does anybody now anymore?

Wow , such an obvious move , don't know why they have not done it before but I believe it is a very price sensitive market so maybe not enough money in it . They did try it in sixties .

I believe JCB have had an agreement with thwaites that they would never make a site dumper asking as thwaites never make a backhoe!

Apparently Mr.Banford and Mr.Thwaites have fallen out over thwaites not using JCB for engines! Now JCB have gone into a joint agreement with Terex that they can supply dumpers branded JCB with terex using JCBs engines. Or something along those lines

Don't know how true this is but it's what I read on Facebook while discussing the new range.

I wonder whether or not Thwaites might regret not working with JCB.

Gunn JCB, Holt JCB, Greenshields JCB, Stewart Plant Sales (Scot JCB) are Thwaites dealers.
NC Engineering use JCB engines and drive train components in some models.

As this is the nearest to a JCB site dumper thread, I'll post my snap here rather than starting a new thread.

JCB 9T-1 Front Tip and JCB 3T-2 Swivel Tip site dumpers parked up on a construction site.

Badge engineering has gone on for years. I dont really see any benefit for any company in flying the flag for another but putting their name to it.

I agree it's probably more about cost savings than trying to make your own product, like you say it's gone on for years.
