Hi,
If your dumper is a Winget from the early / middle 80s it's probably a 4B series.
Winget are srill in business and theres a full set of opperators manuals, repair manuals and parts lists on line.

Go to www.winget.co.uk/PartsAndService.aspx

I think the transmission brake you are looking for is possibly the one shown below for the 4B40 two tonner. It's probably a Winget part rather than Petter.

Changed my mind, now think it might be a Williams. Can anyone tell from these photos.

There is a photo of the brakes that came off the dumper. You can see the drum on the front of the engine on the first photo.

Not seen one of those before. Perhaps a 70s built machine?

The dumper could be a Johnson? I cannot recall a Williams, anyhow its going to be some pig to start direct off the flywheel, a good arm will be required on a cold day.

starts fist time every time, open cold start, throttle open full, leave decompression alone, find biting point with handle come back half a turn and swing it,BANG BANG BANG fisrt time every time.
SORRY I MEANT A JOHNSON DUMPER , NOT WILLIAMS

Darren, does it do this on a cold day??? most dumper builders tried to get the engines starting off the camshaft as it was half the speed so took half the effort to crank, Johnson dumpers were known as pigs to start around Dec' through to March, after that they would start easy.

After a week or two of freezing temperatures it will not start, I was told it's diesel waxing over!!. The old girl does live outside

No thats not diesel gone wax like, thats what you get from spinning the engine off the flywheel, if the starting handle was poked into the cam drive that wax would work fine

:? As far as I can remember all ph2s started on the crank. I would have thought a cam start would be harder as 1 turn would need to turn the crank twice.
