insurance

Post #1 by Andrew Spencer » Fri Apr 25, 2014 11:52 pm

I'm having a great deal of difficultly finding someone who will insure my Q plate Thwaites Orion for road use, tax and everything else is sorted, just need insurance so I can use it on a road run. Can anyone offer me some advice?

JCB insurance services? You'll need a construction related broker otherwise or the good old NFU.

Try a company called Footman James in Blackheath 0121 561 6222 they do insurance for all types of classic machinery.

The NFU seem to have some strange calculations. We have insurance with them and they can be good for certain things. That would seem that they do not want to insure your dumper. Perhaps it was the mention of road runs?

Did you have to register the dumper with DVLA, or had it already been done ?

it was already registered with DVLA. Footman & James & Adrian Flux wouldn't touch it, along with pretty much every ' specialist ' on internet! Cherished declined to offer at first, but I rang to speak to Mr Chamberlain as advised & he sorted it in 5 mins, £56 fully comp, bloody delighted!
