Hi all,
I think the Cat 621 is mated to an Athey reardump. Looks very like the model made by NZG back in the 1970s. Could be wrong!!
Dozeron.

Hi, Folks.
Im only a mug plant operator but I dont remember ever seeing a hexagonal draught beam on anything Cat. Then again, oldtimers disease could be setting in. LOL.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi Graham,
I would agree with Dozeron that it has the Athey rocker-who owns it? The only person that I know in the uk that has one of these is Kevin Morgan from Wigan.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for posting the photos. It is clearly a Caterpillar PR621 Athey! NZG produced a 1:50 scale model of this particular variation from the early to mid 70s. Here are NZGs reference photos of the model:

Are there any scale model collectors here? This model was produced both with and without Athey decals on the dump cylinder shrouds/and with plastic and metal wheel hubs. In the next weeks I will unpack my personal model with the decals and post them here.

All the best,

John

Stuart,

The photo you posted is a model that was produced by Joal in 1:70 scale.

All the best,

John

Hi guys ,

Here's one with the Athey decals onside the bucket.
This one is restored by me so it started his second life.

regards , Leon.
