It is not a difficult job. Go to the Winget web-site and there is PDF of the overhaul procedure.

The main problem is the cost of parts. I went to PRM Marine, who took over Newage and they were very helpful. They also sold me parts at around half of what Thwaites would have charged.

Our box needed a lay-shaft which was £310-00 + VAT but the bearings were very reasonable.

I bought my bits from Hussey and Greenhow, Melksham Wilts. Cheap as chips.

What bits did you get and what were the prices?

I identified the problem cog, and other bits and nothing was much money at all. I dont think I spent more than £150 on bits that were needed. A doddle of a job to do, and I'm not a mechanic.
