Winget 3SE Brakes

Post #1 by rloades » Mon Oct 12, 2020 6:03 pm

Hi all,

I'm currently restoring a Winget 3SE, based on a heritage railway used for site transport for a wagon group. (at somepoint it'll be towing a Hydrovane 90d I'm also ressurecting).

I'm having the steering box rebuilt but have a question about brakes. I'm wanting to at least get the brakes working better, currently, as they dont work at all. This dumper has rod brakes and a rod handbrake and is fitted with a Salisbury 5HA axle.

Does anybody have any idea on parts I can get that either fit into the current drums to get them working (at least a little bit) or to convert to hydraulic (drums or discs)

Cheers, Ross
