The above show is on at the NEC Birmingham over the next two days aswell as today and is on from 14-16 Sept 2010 next year;

I know that John345me has attended this show before and informed me that it was on this year so I thought I'd have a trip over and see what was on display.
This year there wasn't any open air displays but still quite a fair amount of machines outside so well worth a look round. Again the weather was rather cloudy for taking pictures nonetheless I still got a few half decent shots.

Re: Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition
Here's a few more pics, must say I thought that the JCB stand was rather somewhat lacking in machinery on display with no sign of their JS200W wheeled material handler that had been on show at this years SED show?
As I have said before JCB have tended to ignore this sector of the market which doesn't really make good business sense, this was a market that Hymac took very seriously during the seventies and sold a fair amount of machines too.

Hi Jeremy
Dont be misled by the lack of JCBs on the Waste Stand you reported and JCB "tending to ignore this sector of the market".
Indeed over the last 2 years or so JCB are now producing more and more machines specially adapted for the waste disposal sector with additions to the excavator,loading shovel,telescopic loadall and even teletruks.They take this market very seriously and periodically have open days/hands on at the factory devoted to waste operators etc.Dealerships have also now set specialist dedicated personnel to cover the range and we ,as a distributor,find the market continually expanding.

Re: Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition
Dave I'm glad to hear that JCB aren't ignoring this sector of the market, they have certainly got the capability of competing for a market share it would be nice to see them offer material handling versions of their current back actor excavator range.
Again I also know that this sector of the market is expanding with other types of machine too and I don't think that "missing the boat" would be good for any manufacturer.
I think that back in the late sixties and early seventies Hymac saw the potential benefit that a 360 all hydraulic machine could offer over what was then the domain of the Jones & Coles cranes certainly in the scrap metal business anyway.
