Re: A few of questions
Easy answers Fred; the first one is outside "The Cleveland Scientific Institute" so just part of a scientific experiment
The second the operator fancied a swim
The Poclain in the last photo was actually a result of vandalism there are some stupid folk about

Re: A few of questions
As daft as it sounds the first one may not be that difficult to get into that position..
On the zero tailswing jobbies, the boom comes quite far back when fully up, trying to go up an object and can imagine it wouldnt take much to rock her back, ive heard of an RH120 go forwards in a similar manner coming off a ledge that was no more than 3 foot high, with the equipment fully up and out she just rocked over and stood on her nose, left the driver like a stuck on Garfield to the front screen...............

Hi Stu,
I ran and opperated the zero swing Sumitomo pictured below for more than ten years.
I got it into and out of some pretty awkward places and worked on some pretty steep ground.
The thing was very stable, allmost glued ro the ground. It would have been virtualy impossible to flip it onto its counterweight like that JCB however hard you tried. Especialy on that flat site.I cant see how it happened.
