Hmm the dangers of demolition the guy appeared to be a careful operator too he certainly wasn't going hell for leather, mind the building did when it finally went :doh:

Hi,
Frightening how easily things go wrong. :shock:
As you say Jeremy the opperator was steady enough, but it was an accident waiting to happen. :thumbdown:
They had used the remaining wall of the building to retain the weight of the demmolition material and the machine. :think:
It wasn't designed as a retaining wall and clearly wasn't up to it. :doh:
"That was a crazy thing to do." :!: :!: Especialy with a building that tall.
What happened to the opperator :?: :?: Poor guy was probably only doing what he was told.

You would have thought the contractors would have checked that the lower structure could take the machines weight as there must have been a void on the lower floors as you could see window openings below the machine.
Perhaps it would have been better to use a long reach machine or a 22 with a wrecking ball :thumbup: .The operator was taking care.
Its so easy for things to go pear shaped if a job is not thought through.Hope the operator was OK
