PC8000 on assembly line

Post #1 by SRB » Sat Mar 05, 2011 11:51 am

Thought id share a few pics of a PC8000 going down the assembly line.

These are produced in the KMG factory in Dusseldorf, they produce PC3000, 4000, 5500 and the daddy 8000.

This 720 ton beastie will be throwing a 42m3 bucket down in Australia, Kalgoorie to be exact, when finished. Powered by 2 x 2010HP Komatsu SDA16V160 (cummins) Engines, this lump will stand 36ft tall and 32ft wide

The upper structure is fully assembled and ran up to test before being stripped back down for shipping.

Cracking trip I mate ... Something not many people get to see .. Them PC8000's are a big lump of metal and do the job proper (Some might disagree)
