Yes Guria S Coop Ltda is a Spanish company that was setup in 1980 to manufacture excavators and backhoe loaders.
Guria was part of a much larger Spanish company that were involved with shipbuilding and the manufacture of other public works machinery, some of which were other makes such as Benati that were built under license.

Guria was born as part of the Mondragon Cooperative Company in the Basque Country. The engineering and production are centered in Irun, Gipuzkoa, town on the border with France. I think it starts its activity by manufacturing an excavator under license of Benati (it could be the model 160 Super Max). In the 70's Guria starts to design and make specific models: 513, 90SR4, 520, 521, 527 and 545 mainly. In the 80's Guria introduced a backhoe loader and in the early 90's wheel loaders licensed by Kawasaki.
Guria market focused primarily in Spain, in France and some countries of South America. The introduction of these new wheel loaders like the new line of excavators contrasts with the sudden closure of the company. Although after 1992 a huge crisis takes place in the Spanish construction ...
Some years ago I did a little sketch on the design evolution of the Guria excavators. Although I am not sure the latest model was produced ...

In 1994 the company begins to be called Guria Biurrarena to import the first Samsung excavators in Spain. At the end of the 90's Volvo acquires the construction division of Samsung and Biurrarena is obliged to seek other machines to import into the Spanish market. Thus Biurrarena becomes the importer of Hyundai equipment for Spain.
