Re: CAT Excavators
Here are some shots of Devon based Luke Furse's latest toy .....A 1994 Cat 350 excavator with 14,000 hours on the clock !! Had a quick spin in it myself the other week and despite its age I was quite impressed with it's performance, It had a lovely sounding engine according to Luke its the same engine that is fitted in a D8 It has been bought to replace an ageing Broyt X45TB which has been sold to some guy in Poland.
As far as I am aware Cat do not manufacture this model anymore No doubt Stuart will be able to confirm this

Stuart, Luke Furse told me he had bought this machine from Finnings? But I noticed the key fob said Britcom? Do you know if this machine was sold by Finnings??

Re: CAT Excavators
I must say that since my Visit to Finning Cat I have become totally convinced about the quality of the Cat Excavator range, I found them to be so smooth on the hydraulics and it would be nice to own a Cat machine at some point
Hopefully I will get my 312 at some point

Re: CAT Excavators
Aye Old Man Shaw had two 350 BH and a newer 345.
The older D8's had the 3406 in them while the newer tractors have the 3408 power plant.
350 and 375 both had the 3406 in there and are both pretty rubbish compaired to other offering's

Re: CAT Excavators
Hi all,
Here are some more Cat Excavators that were at work on the Whiddon Down improvement works in Devon a year or so ago, John Jones was the principal earthmoving contractor but some machines were hired in from Coles plant & John Craxford.

No Tone,
John Craxford is a plant hire firm based in Newton Abbott, I think they also run other cat excavators and a few dozers on the tips that they operate around Exeter + that little money spinner that they are all getting into...Recycling units

Re: CAT Excavators
i have to say the Cat machines, of any age do really look the buissness. the new D Range are awesome bits of kit Minerva plant had a 325d down at dobwalls plus i had a chat with one of the Coles boys who was driving a 330D down there and he let me have a look around his "Home" as he called it, I was very impressed, everything does look to be in just the right spot in and out of the cab.
