CJM PLANT - Adds JCB 805B Turbo To Private Collection.

Post #1 by newjcb123uk » Wed Mar 24, 2010 11:48 pm

Well in the words of Britney Spears - "Oops I did it again" I'm afraid my classic plant addiction got the better off me when I was offered this minter of a 805B Turbo from Konrad Dean. The genuine 3500 hours did nothing but help the red mist and sweaty palms as my head nodded and nodded that indicated that I just had to have it :dizzy: . Genuinely this machine has done damn all in its 25 plus years from birth at Rocester and has had few owners to which is a complete credit  .

Look at the seat - it's the original -(I know  ) I've driven it and loved it - the levers are as tight as new and the cab trim is as good as a new show house (well nearly! 8-) ) The turbo engine runs as sweet as honey and only requires an exhaust. At present it has a straight pipe and sounds like a Corvette

There is very slight cosmetic damage around the skirt which I've put into the workshop to get immediate attention and that's about it. I probably will paint my new baby but don't want to fall out with my Hymac 580D who is next in line once the new injectors get put back.

Have to say this 805B has kept me awake with excitement - Don't tell the wife lads but I think I'm in love xxx :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

What a find Chris. Let us know how it compares in operation to the 580D.
Is that a Perkins 4236?

What a cracker! I can fully understand why you had to have her, too good an opportunity to miss. I haven't driven the turbo version, although some say it was never as good at its predecessor with the 6 cyl Perkins?

Many thanks for sharing the pictures Chris.

Just a bit of an update on a bit of temporary cosmetic work and general servicing on my beloved 805BT.

I skimmed the two dented skirts and gave them a temporary coat of primer and new JCB yellow untill I get the machine totally shotblasted and resprayed.

A full service entailed and the diesel tank drained and around a stone of gunk removed.

Although these machines never had a silencer box as such I saw it fit to add one to keep the noise down if I'm going to spend any reasonable amount of time in her.

The cab mountings had perished and to any bystander would have thought the slew ring was away as the cab wobbled. Now with new rubbers the cab no longer wobbles and is a joy again to sit in. Keep watching
