Thanks for posting Lewis
Must say for a machine that must be knocking on 30 odd years old she looks in quite good condition.
Note to all members: more Hymac pics please
Thanks

Re: Hymac Excavators
Well folks I haven't had much chance to post any pics recently, sorry 'n' all that so I thought I'd post a couple in me favourite topic
I spotted this 580C on a pontoon along with an old NCK Rapier 424 both machines being used for dredging the Medway.

Re: Hymac Excavators
Great pictures of HYMAC machines. You always seem to be able to find one working in a scrap yard but they never seem to get cut up, or out in the middle of no where.
Here are a couple of my pics.

Great Hymac Shots Tracshovel
I Have seen the first one somewhere before I think it is a machine based in Ireland Please correct me if I am wrong
The second archive shot is a wonderful example of what looks like a brand new delivery machine am I right in thinking it is a Scottish based machine??
Edit...On second look the machine looks like it could of undergone some kind of makeover the signage does not look original and the bucket corners look to be a bit worn??

Re: Hymac Excavators
Nick,
The first Hymac machine - with the bog tracks - works on a peat bog in the North of Scotland. The second photo is of a restored machine which is kept as a load for the owners classic trucks. They had a problem getting the original decals for it so had some made up. But it still looks the part.

Re: Hymac Excavators
In the April 2008 edition of Earthmovers magazine Hymac parts and service Ltd are advertising a Hymac calender for 2008 titles '45 years old and nowhere near retiring' with photos from the 1960's and 1970's in black and white/colour and apparently contains 'never before seen images'.
the calender is 420mm by 295mm is priced at £9.99 (free P&P in the UK) or plus £2 for surface mail or plus £4 for air mail.

I'll make a scan of the advert later.

That's right Jeremy. It gives their old Atkinson Venturer something to think about when on a road run.
Here's another HYMAC pic I found - this time it's one of the grouters used to fill old mine shafts to prevent subsidence. These are gradually being phased out for new high tech Casagrande and Klemm rigs.
