CAT demo show

Post #1 by argie » Sat Aug 23, 2008 11:51 pm

Went to the operator challenge at Folly Farm in South Wales today and CAT had these 2 on demo in an old quarry.

Argie, on the 320D, does is say '21 tonnes' after the model number?
Have Cat produced a tweaked version like the 319D Smart20?

Right,

Cat excavator numbering is going through (another) change.........

319D is a true 20 ton size machine
320D is 21 + a wee bit ton machine
323D is an old Belgium built 320B or early C series machine and is closer to 23-24 ton
324D is a 24 ton machine and a new build
325D is being phased out and replaced by the 329D - because the weight of 325 has crept up from 25 to 29 ton
330D is again being phased out and replaced by the the 336D again to reflect the machines true weight

this all is happening so by looking at the machine's no. you will have a more accurate reflection of its operating weight.

That's a big disadvantage in reflecting the machine's weight in it's model No !!!

Is there a list anywhere of Cat demo events ?

The 320D I'd consider a barebones machine with the most basic setup.
