Hi everyone!

I have a Smith-Rodley 11 from 1952. The engine is a Gardner, it is stuck but I will fix it. I live in Norway, where the machine has had many large projects. Can anyone tell me more about these machines? I would have liked an instruction book or other info. :)

Welcome Einar, an interesting piece of history there. Unfortunately we have lost one of our members who knew so much from that era. Always surprises me how small the track base is for those machines. My late father operated even smaller Smith draglines in the 50s and early 60s. They were powered by Dormans 2cyl diesels (I think). Is the Gardner a 2 or 3 cylinder?

Thanks essexpete, yes very interesting. Sad to hear.
Very small.
But It must have been a great advance at the time when these machines came along. The driver worked with his whole body to drive. Big difference to today's machines :D
It is a 3 cylinder Gardner.
