The book Lincoln's Excavators. The Ruston Bucyrus Years 1945 - 1970 written by Peter Robinson and published by Roundoak Publishing has a comprehensive section on Ruston Bucyrus's hydraulic excavators including much material from the RB company archives. It also has information and photos relating to the 'wrist-action' i.e. hydraulic bucket crowd version of the cable operated drag shovels offered on the 22-RB and 30-RB.
I recall that the 71-RB was also available as a 'wrist-action' cable drag shovel.
Also, the Keith Haddock book Bucyrus Heavy Equipment - Construction and Mining Machines 1880 - 2008 published by Iconografix has a lot of photos and informative captions about Bucyrus Erie and Ruston Bucyrus excavators.
When I've got more time, I'll pull together a bit more information and context.
