Thanks guys. I am trying to find the seal kits before getting it out of the machine and apart. Does anyone know the model or series of these Staffa motors. I can’t seem to find any useful model number or info on the unit itself.

Dan I have spoken to Tony Flint he tells me there are two types of Staffa motor fitted on the 580C, either the B80 or the Mk7 and they are very hard to tell apart; Like Fred says he confirms that you will need a seal specialist so either Staffa themselves or get the seals made.

The fact that there are two types of motor doesn't surprise me...it was the same with the cross-line relief valve..I may try to do it at some stage but for general clearing as I'm using the machine for at the moment, it's not insurmountable...
Just as a side thought....what would be the effect if I used a heavier hydraulic oil...i.e. 32 instead of 46?...would it tighten things up?

Heres the welsh dragon in the nest she is building...lol

Hi! Would be interesting to see a picture of your Hymac. Not everyday you see a wheeled Hymac. As far as i know the 610 is similar to the 580 model, but with other undercarriage, so the staffamotor should be the same. Dont know the part number, but i think Jeremy on this forum knows :)

Yes, no problem!

This is my machine:

These videos are from a few years ago. At that time I had problems with the slew motor, Jeremy and Fred helped me solve the problem

I stopped using the machine because I bought another excavator (doosan dx225lca). but now I need her again. That's why I want to see how I can solve the problem

when the machine takes temperature it turns extremely slow and without power (the same problem as strontium90). I don't know if the problem is the seals or that the material is worn internally

maybe the slew motor is already obsolete and I have to get a new one

Thanks Jeremy!!

Do you know where I can buy the seals? Or the slew motor (Kawasaki Staffa)? remember that I live in Argentina

Maybe you could ask Tony about the transmission of my machine. Maybe he has some manual. the pinion and crown of a differential always breaks and I can't use it with the 4x4

Why? What is the original relationship of the differentials?
