Hi,
I have a jcb 3c mk3 /3 with the torque converter. I went to use it the other day then when it went into gear oil starter running out the bottom of the engine bay. Upon further inspection, the oil cooler has burst. I followed the hoses to this and it appears to be for the torque converter so I checked the dipstick next to the brakes. The oil was to the top of the dipstick, way too full. It was also milky indicating a presence of water so I'm guessing water has gotten in and filled the TC to the top.
My question is what oil should I use to refill the TC? Will ISO32 hydraulic fluid be ok since I have a large quantity of this already?
Also, does anyone know where the fill cap is?
Thanks for any help.

No don't use straight hydraulic oil. JCB do a torq con oil or use an off-the-shelf ATF that is designed for industrial use.
As an edit I cannot remember where the t/con dip and fill was for this model but if you are next to the brakes you might be looking at the rear axle oil which sounds as though it needs a change.

Sorry, I meant the dipstick is next to the brake pedals inside the cab.

Ah yes! it probably wants drain down (Is there a suction strainer on this model?) clean oil and run for a little then drain down again. You cannot usually get all of the fluid out.

The dipstick is next to the heater behind the brake pedal the filler is under the seat it looks like a large breather if you look under the floor you can see the pipe leading to the t/c box.

That is the dipstick I was using. I think the breather may be the source of the water ingress after the cab was blown off in the storms last winter.
I will try and source some ATF.
Is the dipstick behind the 4 speed gear stick for the gearbox oil? It is fill to the top aswell.
Thanks for the help.

the dip stick is in the plate the heater is bolted to .The main gearbox dip stick is in the top of the gearbox, you should check the t/c with the engine running , I can't remember how much oil it takes.
