Re: kawasaki excavator
Kawasaki Heavy Industries have had their fingers in many pies so as to speak and did manufacture a range of wheeled loaders, so they may also have had input into the one off SMEC 4500 front shovel that was operated in an Australian open cast mine for a few years (mid eighties I think).
Other than that I have no knowledge of any other excavators made by them but somebody else on here may know more than me on this subject.

Re: kawasaki excavator
Kawasaki has marketed Kobelco excavators under the Kawasaki name in Japan only as the 'Authent' series.
The SMEC 4500 ws developed by Kobe steel and Mitsubishi though Kawasaki may hvae been involved as they are a leading producer of hydraulic systems.
Kawasaki do however produce an extensive line of wheel loader which are now part of an alliance between Kawasaki, Hitachi and TCM.
