I was thinking the same, maybe there could be more sites that are more friendly, but it means traveling some distances, the next closest one to me anyway is UK Coal's Minorca site in Measham, Leicestershire. But after the reason Lodge House came up with then I presume that every other UK Coal site will come up with the same excuse..

Tarmac quarry at cromford! Or even better the lafarge quarry at whitwell near Worksop! Also mount sorrel at Leicester runs a few rh120s! That's a lafarge quarry too!

My vote would be whitwell because I'm desperate to get some photos of the Volvo EC700CLME that was on the volvo stand at Hillhead last year!

Sorry to her the news Ian. Up until recently you may have had a chance with Lafarge but they have recently gone into a JV with Tarmac who are notorious for their health and safety. Lafarge do a locals visit weekend to the Mountsorrel site but that won't be till later in the year.
Personally, I can't think of any sites that welcome visitors with open arms  mainly because of the ferrying people about and Land Rovers and 777s don't mix very well!
Some sites do have the occasional "Show the locals" weekends but then everything of interest has usually been stopped from working!!!
