Private job this week

Post #1 by Nick Drew » Tue Oct 09, 2007 9:58 pm

Hi All,

Well I am working on a nice little job this week which is only about 7 miles from where I live.

The job is in a private houses extensive garden and involves some landscaping and the creation of fish pond.
It would be a great help if I had the use of a rototilt system (Wouldnt it Robban ha ha)

But as we are in England I have to struggle on with only conventional buckets

I will post more pics as the week goes by :D

Hello Nick!
If you are doing jobs like this, then you have to be an artist :)

Ha ha !! Thank you Bo,

It certainly is proving to be a tricky little job :dizzy: But today I nearly completed the pond.

I hope to post some more photos tomorrow

Haha! It seems to me that you are doing allright anyway. But maybe the work should have been done faster with a rotortilt.
I always promote them but I don´t use one myself. Shame on me.

May I ask if you do the job on a fixed price or are the customer paying by the hour?
I´m curious because on this kind of job it is usually quite difficult to understand exactly what the customer wants and how it should look when ready. So fixed prices are usually very difficult on this kind of jobs.

Hi Robban,

This job is as far as I know being done on a "Day Rate" basis, as you say Robban this kind of job would be difficult to do on a fixed price basis.

I am operating the machine as a self-employed operator sub contracting to the main contractor ADS Ltd.
It is a challenging job as the detail is changing all the time as the home/garden owners are overseeing the works and of course want to add different things as we go. ;)
