Demolishing a building of concrete and bricks.

Post #1 by Robban_C » Fri Sep 28, 2007 11:30 pm

Some pictures from demolishing a building. Is "demolishing" the right word?
The building has been some kind of old workshop or garage. Probably quite old.
We´ll start with a few "before pictures".

The walls where quite "rotten". All I had to do was to push them down and when they fell they disintegrated into bricks and concrete.

Ok, so films can´t be added?

First pics after the walls where demolished.

Loading bricks (they are not that dense as you know) is quickest done with a big bucket. A 0,5 m3 tractor front loader bucket is a big bucket for a 3,5 ton excavator.
From arrival until the first load was ready to go to the dump station took 40 minutes. That includes unloading of the excavator from the trailer!

Look at the last pic, do you see that white sign above the trailer? Well, it says Eskilstuna Energi & Miljö. That is the local dump station. It´s nice with working places that makes short transport distances for the garbage, isn´t it?

After those pics I filmed breaking up the foundation with my hammer but it seems that I cannot upload films. I´ll get some more pics next week instead.

Yes Robban "Demolishing" is the correct way to describe it

I have only done a small amount of demolition during my 25 year machine operating career, but the few jobs I have done have been very satisfying!!

It is nice to take down an ugly old building and clean things up :D

Wow that is a very big bucket for you mini digger :o I bet you know you have it on when it is full of brick rubble :dizzy:

Nice pics Robban, thanks for sharing

Nick

Oh yes. That bucket surely can be felt when it is full. 500 liters and that´s not heaped!
