Re: Pond Life
A few more. You cant beat this thing for getting about. What other machine can track out there and sit in water on 5ft of silt and load it away. So manoeuvrable, you can go across solid ground or float though deep water. The only other option would be to use a barge mounted machine but this way there's so little mobilisation.
You can see where we've been in the last pic. With the lake dropped you can see where we've been tracking around on the silt which is 3 to 5ft deep. The buoys denote where we have dug to when the water is up. No sarcastic comments please!

Re: Pond Life
OK time for dumb questions when your digging do you have to anchor your self some how or does it just sort of work against itself to quick to be a problem ??

Re: Pond Life
You really need to be sitting on something, either the bottom or in the silt to give you a bit of friction. You can work in deeper water but it's not that successful. You can buy a spud leg kit for it if you need to be bobbing about a bit. The machine is really a swamp digger ie built for water upto 4ft 6" deep or very soft marshy ground. My view was that if the water is 5ft deep or over we're probably not going to be working in it.
I hope this helps
