Does anyone remember or have any info on the Braham Miller Group, I remember an advert in Contract Journal from the late 1970's/early 1980's and their products included asphalt/concrete batching plants, concrete mixers, mastic asphalt mixers and the once ubiquitous Bristowes chipping spreader that was seen working behind almost every Blaw Knox Paver of that era.

I don't know much about the company. Iv'e been trying to research them without much luck, but its probably the same Millars who produced concrete mixers from 5/3.5 up to the big static batching and mixing plants.
I remember their products well (worked on some).
Some Millars stuff will be included in my thread "The way we were",
when I get to concrete plant from the 50s & 60s. (Photos too).
There's a small Millars conveyor feeder in one of the Rapier photos I posted there yesterday.

I worked for Braham Miller as an apprentice draughtsman between 1977 and 1981. They were located at the top of Clay Hill in Enfield and I have quite a few memories (as well as a few souvenirs) of my time there, if anyone is interested?

Hi I used to work there in late 70's in the sales office. There were 3 branches, The Braham Millar group itself, Bristowes Machinery which I think was based at Brimsdown or Ponders End in Enfield and Niagra Screens and Plant at Straysfield Road, Clay Hill, Enfield (where I used to work). The MD of Niagara was called Wragg. They built 4 flats next to the factory for employees to live. I have fond memories as this was my first job, and can still remember some employees names.
The daftmans office and Sales office were in the same room, with the typists in the next room along, no such thing as a photocopier then, all had to be typed and put onto ink rollers to make a copy.

My family owned Bristowes Machinery Ltd in the 1950s/60s. My Uncle (Ted Dale) was the Managing Director, my father (Roger Dale) was the Sales Director. The company was sold and Harry Wragg (who I met) went on to be the head of the Football Association. I have old movies of machinery and many memories of the factory at Edmonton where it started. I remember many of the office staff including Bert Tranter (who was the Company Secretary) as well as those on the shop floor- especially Mr Robinson and Mrs Reid who ran the canteeh and made me cheese rolls before I played snooker. I went back many. many years after they moved to Ponders End and Mr Robinson was still there and he said they were still talking about the time my father used to be there.

I have come across reference to BM Group owning Haulamatic (not sure on this), Ritemixer (cement mixer bodies, bought from NEI PLC), Wickham (hoists and lifts).
