Alan Diamond. Were you a fitter at the A34 Wilmslow Bypass?I had some D8's on hire to Mac's and may have spoken to you.
I have other business interests these days but sill run some tractor and boxes as long as the drivers still want to.They are retired now but still do a three day week.
You may find my thread 'some scheduled maintenance' of some interest
Best regards
Nicky Lamb.
P.S,Don Ford,Pakki Mallon,John M'cGlaughlin and myself had D8's and boxes on that job

My grandfather worked in the late 50's through till 75 for mcalpines, Tommy Carry is his name. He drove motor scrapers, d8's and excavators all over England Scotland and Wales. He had lorries then under T J Carry and worked on the coal board and other jobs all over the place. Still going at 82 years young. He knows alot of the names mentioned above so ye might know him!
