I did used to occassionally go into VHE's yard at Wombwell around 1990-93 used to return re-worked engine blocks and crankshafts to the workshop and pick other work up from there.
I can clearly see the line up of Terex scrapers in their yard, VHE were involved in building the "Black Country" by pass by where I live around the same time period.

Was on hire to them with a D135(D8 size) in about 1998 in a land fill tip in Wrexham area. Also was on hire to them in about 2000 ish at manchester airport on a D155.Lots of TS14's and 24's on that job.I went to an auction of theirs in about 2001/2 to look at their D8's but they were only selling the junk. All the good kit was on the other side of the fence.

I saw these machines on the A14 near Molesworth so had to stop and take some photos - hope they are of interest.

VHE stopped running scrapers about 10 years or so ago? had a big auction at their Shafton workshops and sold off the big tackle.
They run smaller stuff at the moment but not much, tend to hire stuff in these days?
