Hi Martyn,
I knew John Todd over many years, it was a sad loss when he was called to the grand workshop in the sky.
Thats a good idea Martyn.
I bet it's a job to source a belt for flat belt drives. or croc.clips to join them these days.

Hi all,
Had a go today.Wheels and wings off.

I'm left with a pile of rusty scrap that I've got to try to turn into respectable wings to put back on. I thought about replacements till I was quoted £850.

I,ll try to keep the tyres, they are a bit perished but I prefer to try to keep the original tread patern.

Had to reseal the rear worm bearing housing, gasket was leaking.

Ready for paint.

Taking shape Fred, there are metal fabricators in Tonyrefail if you need any sheets rolled.Toddy was on our committee. When he was struggling with his health I picked him up at Pendoylan and took him to his doctors at Llantwit. You can still get belting and joiners .
I repaired a Fordson for the Rev John Stacy - Marks at Amelia trust a few years back. His Fordson runs a flour mill..
Did you back wheels remove easy ?
Will pop up one day, will phone you.

Hi Both,
Thanks for the replies.
The wheels came off very easily considering they hadn't been off for 24/25 years. I didn't even need to use a tube on the studs or the jacking bolts, just a long 3/4 drive power bar. :o
The "taper lock" is a good system, and whoever put the wheels on last knew enough to grease the studs, the jacking bolts and the tapers. "Simples."
Has anyone got a colour code for the old Fordson Green :?: :?: I have been told that there isn't one as it was war-time and they used whatever they could get if it was close.
Also can anyone tell me the significance of the spot coding on the axle casing :?: :?: I know it's to do with the axle ratios, my tractor has a yellow spot.
