she runs!!!!!! oh my word. the battle has been won at last sounds amazing ,had a little drive but all brakes disconnected so no big throttle action ,spent an hour with the jetwasher and it looks better. many thanks to thorntons at shrewsbury with the head gasket set as they had one in stock and i had it by ten the next day. and it was the right one not cheap (118 quid ) but at least they had a complete set not just the gasket . highly recommended for anyone looking for elusive engine parts, used mainly good second hand parts including pistons and liners but could not get the right size liners to replace 2 that were damaged so had to go and see a friend of mine who owns dwb engineering to get two liners turned down to size (he,s clever lad ) for them to fit now it awaits some brakes n paint

I have a 3/45 with a Mazda S2 engine fitted.Pulls like a train & I love my Nuffy to pieces.I think the S2 was made by Perkins for Mazda. The S2 were fitted to mazda commercial vehicles in the 80s.
