Couldn't have been a better picture to illustrate my post Fred :thumbup:
I have a vague feeling the colour was specially mixed for Wimpeys.
I've also seen the Leyland Landtrain previously mentioned and it is spot on for the colour . The Landtrain looks so up to date You would have a hard job convincing many people this is 25 years old :D

so you guys would say that the landtrain is in the right colour for the 60s 70s era as well guys i really want to get the colour as right as i can as i have seen the models that have been produced in a yellow but not any where near the colours that have been shown here in the two pics you guys have kindly submitted

Yes Alan I would say Landtrain colour spot on , its a very distinctive colour that I've never seen elsewhere except Wimpeys gear.
