Hydrovane 90

Post #1 by martyn williams » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:45 pm

I have had the compressor about 8 years now.It has proved to be a very usefull tool, running all my air tools and a Thor breaker when I had some concrete to break up.It has run about 200 hours so far since I got it going.
It developed an exhaust blow recently. The box was completely shot.
.I could not find a suitable replacement,so I modified a Vauxhall Astra back box.
Fitted it today and it works a treat.
Compressors are an important part of our construction industry and are the forgotten machine.
I spent 3 years on CP compressors, spent some time at their factory in Scotland on courses on single screw compressors.
My Hydrovane was built in the early 1970's and has a Perkins 4.108 diesel coupled to a Hydrovane 66 cwv air end,
These little compressors deliver 75 cfm at 100 psi.
