Very productive day spent in the workshop on Saturday. Bucket, dipper and boom ram seals done so no more leaks. Then moved onto the track which needed to loose a link. By god the pins were tight so made up a jig to push them out. Was still just on the limit of the 10 ton ram.

Next job was to reset the track tension ram and replace the top roller bearings. Then re-attach the track and tension correctly.

While I was on a roll I thought I'd look at the other side roller bearing. What the frig!!!!!! There was no bearing and the track had been cutting grooves in it!

Only solution for now, weld up the grooves, turn best i can on the lathe, new bearings and hope it works! Ok it's not perfect but hey, it works for now. I call that Charlie-6 JCB-0. Not a bad day :-)

Nice one Charlie :claphands: having access to a lathe and welding equipment all helps with resto jobs, plus the skills too and not forgetting the little helper. :D

thats the go steady steady dont get to much on the go like I do and end up with nothing finished
nothing wrong with welding up a roller there is some special grade of rod thats meant to be used according to the experts Im not real sure what it is but I reckon what ever you used will be just fine

Track pins always take a lot of pushing to get out well done done mate

happy little worker still on the job

great stuff and keep it coming
