D7E running a little warm

Not really a project, just a little fine tuning.
Slowly putting the 7E right one problem at a time, good tractor really but rust and scale in cooling system always mean one eye on the temp. Finaly found time and energy to pull the rad and have a look.(with the help of a deadline hopefully Sibbertoft)
Old girl won't sweat so much with this lot removed!

David, I am working on a radiator clean out job at the moment, I removed the top and bottom tanks and had them blasted and painted, the owner cleaned out the core tubes, I also stripped the coolers as they always get pegged up, but I also whipped out the liners and dug out 40 years of crap from the block plus steamed out the head with the chambers removed, so its had a fair birthday ready to go on a few years more.

Now your making me feel guilty TC, i'm afraid mine will be a make do job.
With a clean radiator and a hose pipe flush for the block she should be right for the odd working day.

David I can tell you that TC is a perfectionist only the right way and the best way will do for him

Its surprising how much sediment gathers in the block, too heavy to flush out sometimes as it compacts like mud.Best way is to do what Tony has done. A proper job but expensive, but will give you peace om mind and be good for many years.

Just thought I should say that this job started as a track adjuster blown seal at Sibbertoft, things just get out of hand sometimes???

Just an update, finished cleaning the core and bolted everything back on. Hopefully test run the tractor and fit the blade this weekend, but with DCPC Saturday and a dodgy forecast might be wishfull thinking! Just a few hours working on a old Cat makes you appreciate good old school engineering, unlike the Challenger i've been chasing electrical gremlins on today.
