Hello everyone
My name's colin, I'm married with 4 kids, I live just north of Bristol & currently run a Scania 8 wheeler tipper for my crust. I just can't get plant out of my system though & may well renew my card & do a bit here & there to keep my hand in.

I was a full time plant operator many moons ago, spending most of my time on a JCB, I started on an almost new 3cMk11 & then got moved onto a brand new JCB 8D, it was a cracking machine & I was so chuffed to be given one of the 3 my boss bought, considering I was only 18 I felt very lucky. We were a plant contracting company & they had a range of kit from a Drott 150 up to Drott 250 & MF500 & Cat 955 track shovels. IH BTD8 up through BTD20 & BTD30 & Terex 82-30 & 82-40 Dozers. IH 295 & Terex TS14 motor scrapers, add to these the JCBs 1 3C & 3 8Ds & one lone IH 3964 360 track excavators. The operators for these machines were a great bunch for a new starter like me in the game & I have to say they taught me a lot, giving me the chance to have a play with machines I'd probably never get to se again much less drive. For what now seems like no reason at all, I moved on from there to several smaller plant hire firms on either a JCB, Mymac370 a short time on an MF450s 0r a Drott B100 with a JCB backactor. Sadly the last firm I worked for sold up & I broke away from plant & have never gone back.

I hope it's not too long an introduction, if it is, perhaps the moderators will edit it down a bit.

Brilliant site with great potographs.

BB :) (Colin)
