Typical of me to be one of those who never introduced themselves formally!

Well lets see, what can I say about myself...

Never really had any proper experience as an operator of machinery, I'm a sales brochure collector for all kinds of heavy plant and equipment. In my spare time I like to try and get pictures of the same kind of stuff, although I'm by no means a professional! Its just a good way of getting out and about, get some excersize and hopefully have a bit of fun while doing all that.

Anything else; well I don't drink, I don't drive and I don't smoke! I spend quite alot of time online - maybe more than I should really but its led to getting to know all kinds of interesting people and finding that I wasn't the only person going from place to place taking pictures of all-things-hydraulic.

I hope I haven't bored anyone to sleep just yet, as I do have the tendency to ramble!

Best regards to everyone.

Gavin

Not sad at all! I took a holiday to the Isle of Wight, 9 hours by bus with a 45min ferry crossing from Southampton to Cowes. The main reason for going; a Grade 2 listed 80ton giant cantilever crane built by Babcock & Wilcox in 1911.

Going back next year!!!

Hello all. My name is Alan Hynes, aka alan627b, and also "Flip" or Flipper" Check the avatar, you'll figure out why!
I am an 46 year old operator in Omaha, Nebraska, USA, I work for Negus And Sons, a heavy highway (dirt) contractor here. Union Local 571.
Usually I'm found in the seat of the Cat 627B twin engine scraper. I've been an equipment nut since I was 10 years old, now I get paid to run them!
I'm also an avid fan of models, I have about 300 models of plant equipment. In addition, my other interests include cars, primarily those made by the Chrysler corporation.
I own a 69 Valiant 100, with a 340 4 speed. My street/drag car under construction.
99 Dodge dakota R/T with the 360 engine.
93 D350 1 ton Dually with the 5.9 Cummins and Getrag 5 speed
1954 Cat D2 with the 2A angle dozer, SN 5U13518
1947 Cat DW10 tracotor, SN 1V276
1948 LaCrosse tilt deck trailer
Most of them projects in one stage or other!
I'll be posting lots of pictures, and I'm really enjoying the forum so far.
Cheers,
Alan

Hi Alan, very welcome to the CMN!
Wow, what a delicious collection of cars!
The Vailant, is it a station wagon (I love the rear side windows!) or a sedan?
What is the 93 D350?
