Hello to all!
My first post on CMN….
….but not my first classic machine. Having said that, in general terms I tend to work on more modern machinery, but I hope to share my experience in restoring our Thwaites dumper with Petter PH2 from circa early-mid eighties. We’ve owned it for 10 years or so and it's a great work horse but after sitting dormant for a number of months it needs a more than a little TLC.
In any case I like to maintain, upgrade and retrofit and although I don’t drive a computer very often I do enjoy working on the machines. First job on the Twaites will be to tackle the clutch which seems to have bonded itself to the flywheel. (Then it’s onto the brakes, steering, engine……)
Hopefully I'll make it into 2nd gear and over time I’ll be able to make a contribution to the community. In the mean time I’ll just say hello today and look forward to engaging with you all.
