Hi all, i worked on the motorways from 89 to 95 mainly for Tarmac EMD but also worked for Mc Alpines and James Moore.
I grew up on the motorways travelling from job to job with my parents. Nice to read some of the stories of the good old days on here also the pics are great

hi tom. what motorways did they build then, m40? i only worked on local stuff like stoke, shrewsbury bypass. welcome

Yeah Mc Alpines had a large section of the M40 i worked as a chainlad for them when EMD laid me off for the winter. I also worked in Evesham for them. My brother was an engineer for Mc Alpines he worked up in Shrewsbury early 90's

Well Tommy Mills, how the devil are you? Do you remember me-Niall Gibbons, on a duck. Used to stay in the caravan next to you's in Loughboro back in 91'. Last time I seen your folks was in Ecclefechan (Gretna). How are you's all gettin on, good I hope!!
