First sit on a tractor?
Fordson Major at Wantage, aged 5.
First drive?
Grey Fergie in 1958, aged 9. Well, I steered it, while its owner did the clutch etc.
Many visits to dealers during the 60s with my Dad.
Had Cat paint in my veins from my apprenticeship for many years, but it was flushed out by Komatsu in later years.
Interested in vintage equipment, horse, steam, diesel, even petrol. Do several shows a year.
Best job?
Playing with 12" to 1 foot Tonka Toys in Redditch.
Happy to chat about many topics, with reminiscences across most aspects of the service side of plant during the 60s and 70s mainly. [some of which should only be spoken!!!!].
