John Allen & Sons roller

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Mon Aug 30, 2010 10:38 pm

I managed to visit two different venues this bank holiday Monday and I came across quite an interesting array of machinery of which I hope to post quite a few pics.
This particular machine was spotted at the "Wings & Wheels" show at Abbots Bromley; I thought it appeared to be rather unorthodox to say the least and the steering mechanism which is a worm and quarter wheel made me smile too.
The road tax was out of date too DEC 63  you can just about make it out. I don't know if this machine was intended for an oversize lawn or a pavement, it seams a tad small for a road roller but the tax disc obviously means that it spent some time on the road.
Oh well something a bit different.

Wow! That is a nice roller! The steering is a bit ... unusual ...
