Post #1 by Abarfordben » Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:36 pm

Hi all this is my first post to the site I have just joined, I'm currently restorIng a 1966 Aveling Barford ga road roller I'm on the look out for any parts or particularly a workshop manual for this roller so if anyone has anything please let me know. I'm also going to do a project thread for it so you can see the progress :D

Will the project be alright to stay in this section or should I put it in the proper projects part of the forum?

So my progress so far you have seen the roller as I found it and now I will post a few pictures that show it to the point iv got it at the minute which is basically just stripping it to bits and assessing what parts need replacing or attention

Ben that has not taken you very long to get her stripped down is the roller looking like it is in decent condition or are you finding plenty of worn parts?

Well Iv been doing this since Christmas so a little while Iv only just discovered this site :D It's not in bad condition underneath the body work makes it look worse!
Oh yes plenty of worn parts particularly bushes, do you or anyone else on here know if there is anywhere to get parts from for these, I need most of the bushes for it, a new brake band and they are just some of the bits I need.

I am sure somebody on here can advise you where to get spare parts from; worst case scenario an engineering company could knock you some new bushes up.

I hope so, there doesn't seem to be much activity in this part of the forum? Are there any other sections that may be better to post in to ask for people's help locating any kind of Parts?
Yeah I have a few friends who may be able to help me with things such as bushes etc which is always good
