Hi Neil.I remember Floods of Chester around that time.I may have worked along side some of their kit as I did alot for D.Morgan Plc at that time.I briefly met Derek Flood one Sunday during 1989 at the Chester Business Park.He was walking the dog about the site and I was tandem pushing scrapers through some soft ground and came over for the crack during brew time. They came a cropper at Mold with shands a few years later I think.I remember a great Scammel Crusader they used for a lowloader.I also recall a self employed fitter that did abit for me back then called John Wilson that also worked on Floods D8's.
I still do abit with D.Morgans.This pic was taken in May this year.
Nice to have you here neil

Hi nick,

My dad was the muck shifting Forman for floods on mold by pass. He has worked for floods for 46 years. John Wilson passed away a few months back, he was a family friend. We used to go on holiday with them years ago, my dad said what he didn't know about d8,s. it was a kenworth they had, I used to go with my dad on weekends moving plant

sorry Neil,i don't know your dad as I never went on hire to Floods and only ever worked on a couple of sites where their D8's were hired in.I remember they had 2 tractor and boxes at the greyhound track in Sealand I think it was.
After seeing the Kenworth I realise that I was confusing it with a bright yellow Scammel Crusader that was on the scene at the time.It may have been Ruttle's?

Yes Neil, since we last spoke i've mentioned this to my brother Alan Hale. He drove Morgans low loader for many years. Pete is regularly in touch with Al, we all normally meet up at Tom Athertons working afternoon.
