Re: D8K pics
Is your nickname taken from the DJB D550 ? I worked there for a few months and used to help test the trucks over at Raisby quarry. We spent a few weeks testing the wheel rims on the D550 which involved driving it fully loaded as fast as it would go over a large bump in the quarry floor. I'm sure the whole 100t would take off for a few moments, quite a bang when we hit the deck again.

Re: D8K pics
Hi chris,
Yes my nickname is taken from the DJB D550 as i spent many a day over Doggie quarry at cats demonstration facility! I also visited Raisby quarry several times just before the D550 was cut up. As a 12 year old lad getting to drive a 550 was an awsome experience!
Can you remember 3 lads who would come over the quarry to watch the machines, i was one of those lads, though i diddn't visit Raisby too often! You will know Dennis then?
I remember watching them testing the front axle on the d30C and they would drive at a ramp at speed and would watch the front wheels come clear of the floor!
Not sure if there are any D550's working these days, i'd love to see one working again.
The pics were taken at West chevington OCCS in Northumberland.
