Roly, great sequence of photos, very interesting.
Had a good look at Russells 22A (hyd blade) while the shuttle lever selector was being fixed. Its fine now and i`ve been getting in some practice on Fridays.(Got to do your bit for local charities!!) Still a lot to learn but getting there. Hope to see you on the 2nd May.

that is a nice looking tractor.
are you talking about cliff dailey as in ketton cement?

today,fitting a new recoil spring,the broken one did,nt show up untill new tracks
were fitted,and soon as it gripped back went the idler with a bang,with
worn out grousers the old tracks just spun before,never had trouble with
the springs rusting in the old 22A,s,the housing,s were filled with oil

Hmmm sounds like a step backwards, Roly. Were your D8K's made in Scotland like the D8H 22As ?

Yes john they were,they stopped filling them with oil in the early to mid 60,s
because of cracked frames and loss of oil,then replaced by anti moisture
granuals what a joke about as usefull as a chocolate kettle

I think ive asked this before but how much does an old D8 like these weigh? And how do they compare in weight to there modern counterparts the D8T?
