I know what you mean about having both std grousers and lgp grousers. It sounds like the best of both worlds but it doesn't really work out. It's nearly allways boggy work and hardly ever standard pad work.In saying that,I've had the standard pads on my D5 for 16 months now as the machine is on the same job but it's the first time it's worked out like that in 20 years!I've allways ran 24'' on my D8's except one time when I bought some 20'' pads. They were no good really and I never bought another set.

Nicky, very rare we get a job thats dry for the duration, thats why i run all my
D8s on 28",thats helped us work through the last 4 winters and go where a
standard shoe wont,we,ve proved it time and again, every bit of wet muck we
can grab is a bit less for the diggers & trucks

Geoddis Plant ran some D8K's with 26 or 28'' pads and they would leave my D8's standing in bad muck on wet days.I considered wide pads for my D8's but I decided against for some reason that I don't recall now.

Justin, you have been very lucky to have dry enough jobs for so long
to run on a standard shoe :o
