Here's Some dozers i operated when i worked at Imerys Lee Moor China Clay works ,Devon,England back in 2001. These machines were on hire to Imerys from Marubeni Komatsu who took the contract on to supply machinery for the extraction of china clay and to remove sand/stent waste from the three separate pits which is on one huge site. All these machines were cross hired from different plant hire companies including, Walter Group Cat D8R's x2 ,Komatsu D85Ex2 and Jones Bros(Ruthin) Komatsu D155ax amongst other machinery.
I remember one night shift driving one of the D85E's and pulling over to let a loaded Volvo A35 coming up the narrow haul road pass me when ,i went to pull away again but nothing happened when i put the machine into gear, Reving up but no go. I remember the charge hand saying "I'll get it going boy" ,But he didn't,trying hard to get it to move it was mission aborted .The next morning i herd the fitter went down after being told of a problem went to sort the problem out, only to find it started and drove away normally: : . I spoke with the fitter a couple of days later and ask what the problem was with old girl and the reply was nothing and a comment like" you lot must of been on something" and me saying " Yea the bloody night shift" .
