Good Pictures Paul... That ripper in the 3rd picture looks different to me so perhaps somone can tell me why.

I wonder how many D9L IR machines were built, i worked on one down under and even saw it in a ripping trial with a D11N,D10 and it walked away from the bigger machines in a side by side rip race.

GIZZY, the ripper on the third photo is an impact ripper, it is on the same principle of a hammer on a excavator. When it hit a hard spot and pressure was put on a valve, it opened to let the impact make contact with the ripper tooth, just like the hydraulic hammer.
They where not a great job and where dropped.

I thought it might have been that but i wasnt sure.
