KENDIG MICRO FIND

Post #1 by newjcb123uk » Fri Aug 07, 2009 11:19 pm

Bought this the other day and couldn't believe it - A Ken-Dig -extremely rare. I believe it was built in my home country of Northern Ireland in the 1980s and competed alongside of the brilliant Powerfabs of their day. Honda engine and very fast hydraulics - can't wait to paint it up - Shall I keep it ??? :insomnia: Oh the dilemma 8-)

Hi Chris, That's a very nice, tidy looking machine. I think you should check everything works OK, paint it up and then sell it (to me   ).
Seriously though, if it were me, I would keep it (bit of a magpie really).

I can't even find any info about Ken-dig towable diggers on the oilyhands ( www.oilyhands.co.uk ) website which is the source for info about towable diggers.
Ken-dig are in Peter Grimshaw's Amazing story of excavators book for producing a 1.5 tonne mini that looks like a copy of a JCB 801.

Hi, we made these Kendigs in Kenagh, Co Longford, Ireland. This one is a very early Kendig either number 5 or 6. The bonnet and the oil tank was changed after this model. The later ones has 180 degree slew and two rams working it. Contact me at anytime for more information if required.
