We are getting more and more specialized at building high reach machines witch can handle big attachments,
For the 48 mtr hitachi's we use 4200 kg tools,

The 870 Tripple we have built for Van Vliet can handle a 10000 kg shear at 24 mtr pin height or 28 mtr working height

I was trying to create a new topic asking what "STC" stands for but was redirected here - not that I am complaining; the photos are fantastic!

So, what is STC an abbreviation for?

Do some manufacturers make their own demolition booms or are they all 3rd party constructions madew by Kocurek and the like?

Thanks!

STC means Swanink (Ad Swanink is the founder) Techniek Coevorden. Coevorden is the place were they based.

Not many manufacturers make their own demo booms, a lot buy in from Kocurek or similar companies. Liebherr design and build their own, CAT more or less use technology bought from Verachtert, Komatsu dabble in self built booms. It's really the small specialist companies that have learned the black art of boom technology that succeed in the demo boom sector. Must be the ability to build to individual spec/order that helps.

On of the best 870-3 demolition machines. The STC 870-3 from Avenir Deconstruction on a very nice project and working with 55m boom.
